About Us

Shivaji College is a co-educational college affiliated with the University of Delhi. It offers 20 UG courses under different faculties of Science, Commerce and Humanities. The college also offers one self-financing course in Bachelor of Business Economics (BBE), three PG courses and one add-on Language course (German). Admission to UG courses is based on the Common University Entrance Test (CUET UG) and for admission to PG courses, candidates are required to appear for the CUET PG. Then, they have to register for the DU CSAS seat allotment process as well.

Established in 1961 by Hon’ble Union Minister of Agriculture Shri Panjabrao Deshmukh Shivaji College focuses on promoting gender equality ideals and community service activities. The college has been accredited with Grade ‘A’ by NAAC and ranked 42 for Arts and 35 for Science by India Today 2024.

The faculty members and administrative staff are in a continuous strive to provide holistic support to the students through their guidance and experience. The faculty members are highly educated and experienced in their respective fields. Few of the senior faculty members even supervise DU registered Ph.D scholars.

Shivaji College which is spread across an extensive area of 10 acres of land is known for its herbal garden, lush green lawns and large playgrounds. The college campus has adopted various environment-friendly practices like, ban on plastic, ban on smoking, no vehicle entry and plantation of trees to lower carbon print on the campus. Other facilities provided by the college include bank, healthcare, cafeteria, etc. Instead of using non-renewable resources the college uses solar panels, water harvesting pits and paper recycling units to make the campus eco friendly

Shivaji College Admission Process 2024

Shivaji College admission to the UG and PG courses is based on scores obtained in the CUET examination. The college admission process includes appearing for the CUET examination and then appearing in the CSAS seat allotment. Registrations for admission at the college start after CUET result declarations. Candidates must select Delhi University while filling out the CUET application can register themselves on the DU CSAS portal and choose their college and course preferences. Step 1: Appear for the Entrance Examination

Step 3: Seat Allocation

The seat allocation will be done in multiple rounds for all programs. Seats are allocated based on scores obtained in the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) or other national-level tests, combination of college and program chosen, category (SC/ST/OBC/EWS/UR) of the candidate, and availability of seats.

Step 4: Blocking of Seats and Final Admission

Candidates can check the seat allotment result by logging into Delhi University’s Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) dashboard. Upon acceptance of seat, the university will check eligibility, verify documents, and confirm admission after receiving the admission fees.

Library: Shivaji College provides a well-resourced library with more than 1,00,000 books of various disciplines, about 6000 journals, 97000 e-books, magazines, and newspapers. The library contains 2 air-conditioned reading halls equipped with computer and internet facilities.

Laboratory: Shivaji College provides well-equipped, modern & efficient laboratories for science courses. The college also provides 4 air-conditioned computer science labs with sophisticated software and high-speed internet connectivity access to students and staff.

Auditorium: Shivaji College provides a well-equipped auditorium with a state-of-the-art audio-visual system, projector, and stage lighting arrangements. The auditorium is fully air-conditioned with a seating capacity of 400 where various extracurricular, cultural, and educational activities like seminars, talks, debates, plays, movie screenings, and departmental festivals are conducted.
