Established in 2009, The National Institute of Technology Uttarakhand (NITUK) is located on the banks of the Alaknanda River in Srinagar (Garhwal), Uttarakhand. NIT Uttarakhand was established under the Act of Parliament by the Ministry of Education (Shiksha Mantralaya) and is one of the 31 institutes of national importance. It is a Public Technical University and has secured a rank between 101-150 in the NIRF 2023 Rankings in the engineering category, out of more than 1500 participating institutes in India. NITUK has also achieved the 33rd position in the Engineering category in India’s Best Colleges 2023 Ranking conducted by the India Today Group.

NIT Uttarakhand has signed several MoUs at the National and International levels with other universities. The MoUs at the national level are signed with universities such as IIT Kanpur, IIT Roorkee, IIT Delhi, IIT Ropar, MNIT Jaipur, and HNB Garhwal University, among others. The MOUs at the International level are signed with Eötvös Loránd University, Hungary, and National Formosa University, Taiwan.

NIT Uttarakhand offers full-time BTech and MTech programmes at the UG and PG levels in Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, and Civil Engineering. The Institute also offers PhD in the streams of Engineering, Sciences, and Humanities.

According to the latest placement report available on the official website for the 2019-23 batch, 60 students have received job offers, with INR 21 LPA and INR 9.95 LPA being the highest and average package, respectively. The major highlights of NIT Uttarakhand are tabulated below:

Regarding Placement

As per the latest report, 74 job offers were rolled out during 2023 placements. The overall placement percentage for BTech and MTech stood at 79.49% and 45.45%, respectively. Out of 78 eligible BTech students, 62 were placed during NIT Uttarakhand placements 2023. The overall highest package offered was INR 21 LPA. Further, the overall NIT Uttarakhand average package stood at INR 11 LPA. CDoT, Publicis Sapient, and ThoughtSpot, among others were some of the prominent companies that participated in 2023 placements. According to NIT Uttarakhand Engineering NIRF report 2023, the median package offered during NIT Uttarakhand BTech and MTech placements 2022 stood at INR 6.8 LPA and INR 6.5 LPA, respectively.
