About Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University Of Social Sciences

The government of Madhya Pradesh by ACT No. 2 of 2016 has set up Dr B. R. Ambedkar University of Social Sciences, published in Madhya Pradesh Gazette (Extraordinary) on 13th January 2016. Dr B R Ambedkar University of Social Sciences (BRAUSS) is the first university of social sciences in the country. The University is a unique model of integration of social sciences perspectives and approaches with scientific and technological advancement for socio-economic development and educational excellence of scheduled castes, scheduled tribes and other backward classes. The University aims at accelerating socio-economic development and educational excellence among marginalized sections for their upliftment and empowerment; and the confluence of new technologies and the latest modules of social sciences with the ideology of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar for alleviation and eradication of social evils, social disparities & injustice and establishment of egalitarian society.

The University promotes socio-economic and educational development of marginalized sections of society by imparting higher education, research, extension & training in social sciences & allied subjects including- Constitution & Democracy- national integration, democratic decentralization & local self-governance; Social & Educational Empowerment- egalitarian social order, secularism, women empowerment & social emancipation, religious & social harmony, human dignity, family & child welfare, quality higher education; Economic & Financial Empowerment- among the weaker sections through capacity building & entrepreneurship development, welfare economics, and policy reforms; Law & Social Justice-equality of status & opportunities, liberty of thought, expression, belief, faith & worship, fraternity assuring dignity of individual & unity and integrity of nation, ensuring social justice, protecting civil & human rights; Environment & Agrarian Development- conservation of water & natural resources, ecological harmony & interlinking of rivers, land holdings & agrarian development, agricultural technology & rural crafts; and International understanding & foreign policies and scientific approach towards nation building.

His Excellency the Governor of Madhya Pradesh Shri Mangubhai C. Patel is the Chancellor and chairperson of the Governing Body of the University. Prof. Ramdas G. Atram is the Vice Chancellor of the University, and he is the Chairperson of the Executive Council and Academic Council of the University. Prof. D. K. Verma is Director-Research, extension & Training and also the Course Director of the Faculty Capacity Building Programme.

BRAUSS Admission Process

The procedure to apply for BRAUSS admission 2021 is conducted in both online as well as offline modes. Candidates seeking admission to various programmes offered by Dr B.R. Ambedkar University of Social Sciences must qualify certain criteria as detailed below:

MSc, MPhil and PhD: Admission to these programmes is based on a candidate’s score in the entrance test conducted by the University
MA: Admission is granted based on marks in the previous qualifying exam i.e. bachelor’s degree
BA: Candidates are offered admissions based on their merit in Class 12 exam

BRAUSS Courses

Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University of Social Sciences offers in total of five courses at UG, PG and doctoral levels. These include a three-year BA programme at the UG level along with two-year MSc and MA (in 22 streams) programmes at the PG level. It also offers a two-year MPhil course in 12 specializations and a PhD course across 17 specializations at the research level.

BRAUSS Scholarships

BRAUSS scholarships are offered to both academically bright and economically weak students. The scholarships are disbursed under the name of Award of Fellowship and Scholarship and Chancellor’s Fellowships.

Candidates who wish to pursue UG, PG and Research programs can apply for the same either through online or offline mode. Here are the detailed procedure and steps to apply:

Click on ‘Online Registration’.
Fill all the details correctly in the application procedure.
Pay an application fee of INR 500 (INR 200 for SC/ ST Category) through Credit/ Debit card/ Net Banking.
Click on ‘Submit’ button.
Take a printout of the duly filled application form and keep it safe for future references.

Offline:
