National Institute of Puducherry (NITPY) was established by the Government of India in 2009. NIT Puducherry is one of the ten new NITs. In addition, it is one among the 31 NITs acknowledged as Institute of National Importance by the Government of India. NIT Puducherry offers UG, PG and Doctoral programmes in the fields of Engineering, Technology, Sciences, Humanities and Social Sciences.

Regarding Placement

NIT Puducherry is conducting its placement drive for the Class of 2024. As per the latest report, 24 recruiters participated and placed students in new-age job roles. The participating recruiters have presented 96 job offers to BTech and MTech students. The top recruiters of NIT Puducherry placements in 2023 included ABB, Ford, Qbit Labs, Genpact, Kaleyra, Mu Sigma, HCL, etc.

Earlier, NIT Puducherry released the placement report for the batch passed out in 2023. As per the report, 58 recruiters participated during NIT Puducherry placements in 2023 and offered 47 dreams and 129 non-dream offers to the batch of 2023. The highest and average package offered to the BTech batch 2023 was INR 20.24 LPA and INR 9.70 LPA, respectively. Further, the highest and average package offered to the MTech batch 2023 was INR 24.70 LPA and INR 10.50 LPA, respectively. The top recruiters of NIT Puducherry in 2023 included Publicis Sapient, Samsung, Jio Infocomm, Schlumberger, Straive, Oracle, Zuora, Eaton, etc.
