About Us

Shri Vaishnav Institute of Management & Science has a glorious history since 1987. It was established as one of the constituent units of Shri Vaishnav Shaikshanik Avam Parmarthik Nyas, Indore. The Nyas has established Shri Vaishnav Shikshan Samiti and under its aegis, Shri Vaishnav Institute of Management & Science is progressively leading towards success. It has been conferred with the award of being the oldest Self-Finance Institute of M.P. by CMAI, Asia. The institute is approved by Govt. of Madhya Pradesh as an ‘A’ Category Institute.

The Institute proudly announces the UGC-NAAC Accreditation with an ‘A’ Grade in two consecutive cycles in 2012 and 2017 respectively indicating its highest commitment to quality in all aspects. During the past 36 years journey, it has been serving society by providing an excellent environment for education in the area of Management and Computer Science.

The institute aims at creating efficient managers and leaders. We strive to ensure that our students develop the right skills required to sustain and grow in this scenario of global competition. At the same time, we also make efforts to prepare the students for the future by cultivating a winning spirit, which helps them to participate on all platforms. With a lush green campus spread over an area of seven acres located in the heart of Indore city, the institute is well connected through all means of transport.

The Institute offers Management and Computer Science programs both at undergraduate and Post Graduate Levels. The Institute is affiliated with Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore, and Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya, Bhopal. Also, it is a recognized research center of Devi Ahilya Vishwavidyalaya, Indore for a Doctoral Degree in Management.

Library

The Library of the institute, with its modern collection of knowledge resources and innovative information services fills an essential role for students, and faculty in their intellectual pursuits. It is very vivid and contains a wide range of books and publications around 52785 books, 17000+ ebooks, 2907 CDs, more than 10000 online journals, 88 print national and international journals, a fairly good collection of Indian Philosophy, Value Management, Harvard Business publishing books, ICFAI Publishing books, IGNOU teaching materials, Project Reports, Case Studies, Biographies and Autobiographies.

The library holds a range of information services- Circulation, Reference, Reprography, Current Awareness, and Internet Services to support professional growth, encourage the process of teaching-learning, and achieve the objective of quality in higher education.

Auditorium

The institute has a centralized air-cooled auditorium with a seating capacity of 200 students. Its main features include a high-tech sound system, comfortable seating arrangement, high-quality mikes, a vast screen, and an LCD projector. Apart from hosting all college functions it is used for conducting Placement Drives, Pre Placement Talks, Workshops, Seminars, Conferences, Cultural Festivals, Prize Distribution Ceremonies, etc.

Sports

To achieve a healthier lifestyle and cope with the pressures of studying, students need to be healthy both emotionally and physically. With this motto, SVIMS emphasizes the importance of sports and considers them as an integral part of the curriculum. A number of sports activities both indoor and outdoor are available for the physical development of students to maintain fitness and develop a competitive spirit. Its outdoor playgrounds and indoor courts are spread over a big area.

Facilities for Disabled Students

India was one of the first countries to ratify the United Nations Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD), showing its strong commitment to upholding the rights of persons with disabilities and ensuring that children with disabilities have access to inclusive, quality education. Making college accessible by eliminating barriers students face is a critical factor in this regard. In pursuance of this commitment, the Government of India launched the Accessible India Campaign (Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan) in 2015 to achieve universal accessibility for persons with disabilities. An important pillar of the Campaign relates to building environment accessibility, calling for making public buildings, including colleges, accessible and removing existing infrastructural and physical barriers. The institute provides a special facility for differently abled students for their independent work and mobility. Students with disability or who are differently-abled are entitled to access to all schemes, facilities, and services in the college. To suit the special needs of differently-abled persons, the college has created special facilities such as lifts, ramps, rails, and washrooms and made other necessary changes as per their requirements.

Canteen

The institute has a canteen on a contract basis; providing quality food at student-friendly prices. Hosting a wide array of dishes, that cater to the basic needs of both, the students and staff providing them with the food with no compromise on the quality. A variety of refreshments, hot and nutritious snacks, and meals are prepared according to the taste buds of the students. It tends to be the most popular place on campus, not only for eatables but also for students bonding, discussions, and gatherings.

Hostel

The Institute also provides a Hostel facility for Boys and Girls for those who are outsiders near the campus with all basic facilities at pocket-friendly charges.

Computer Laboratory

Computer labs are an important component of any professional and technical Institute. The institute has six well-equipped labs with the latest configured computers and technologies, keeping pace with the diverse educational, training, and research endeavors. Projectors are also placed in all the labs to make the teaching and learning process more prolonged and interactive. The computer labs serve as the center for teaching computer programming, creating and working on the latest technology, and imparting training to students on various aspects of IT-related programs.

It provides computing facilities to all the students for their programming-related practical work and Internet surfing. As sufficient numbers of computers are available, students get enough time and opportunity to practice and strengthen their programming skills. Facilities are also used for the conduction of programming labs for students of various programs, the conduction of online tests for various companies that come to the institute for recruitment, facilitating online registration, exam form filling, etc. All students have access to computer facilities that include the latest personal computers with an Internet connection and firewall authentication for security purposes, operating systems, licensed software, and the latest programming languages. Computer Labs built for project work, software, and internet programming. Apart from the computer center and the library, which have wired internet connectivity, the entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled with high-speed internet bandwidth and security through the servers located in the computer center.

Furthermore, the Computer Centre has also been offering services to various departments and cells of the Institute in the maintenance of their computer systems and peripherals.

Physics / Electronics Laboratory

Our Institute has a well-equipped Physics and Electronics laboratory. It provides all the facilities for the students to perform experiments covering the syllabus of the Bachelor of Science. The equipment for optics like spectrometer, Newton’s rings, telescope, and bi-prism; electronic equipment like diode characteristics, transistor characteristics, B-H curve, rectifiers, regulated power supply; mechanical instruments like flywheel, bar and torsional pendulum, cantilever; heat experiments comprising of Newton’s law of cooling, Lees disc experiment, thermocouple, thermistor, electric kettle; electrical and magnetism equipment’s like B field, frequency of alternating current, Faraday’s law, are available for the practical knowledge of the students. The students are guided to understand the applications and practical uses of different experiments and perform the experiments. We also give the practical use of discrete components like resistors, capacitors, ICs, transistors, transformers, etc. The students can also make live projects in the laboratory. Working models are also prepared in the laboratory.

Language Laboratory

Language Lab is a tool that facilitates classroom engagement and interaction via computer-based exercises and activities to maximize language immersion.

The institute provides a very different experience from the traditional system of teaching and learning languages and offers more advanced features and functionalities through the Language Lab. It is becoming highly valued as such labs offer students a structured E-Learning environment that is successful and reliable. Students learn more comprehensively through a language lab and achieve these three main objectives: practices in listening & speaking, to reinforce the grammar, vocabulary, and functions taught in the class.

ACE Digital Language Software and K-Van Multimedia Language Lab Software are premier, state-of-the-art language learning solutions for students. It is a tried & tested solution that offers cutting-edge over existing Language Lab systems with its easy-to-use interface & power-packed features.

This software aims to improve speaking & listening skills while helping students to be familiar with the different aspects of a language like pronunciation, accent, stress, and phonetics. Language labs provide practice entertainingly and interactively to acquire the four main language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Business Analytics Laboratory

Analytics is a fast-growing field with widespread applications in various sectors of industry. It is the study of data through statistical and operational analysis, the formation of predictive models, the application of optimization techniques, and the communication of these results to the stakeholders of the organization. The upcoming industry change has created opportunities for budding managers to focus on data analytics tools and techniques which are relevant job skills in today’s environment. Business Analytics lab started with a motive to train students with analytics tools and techniques. This dedicated lab has the capacity of 60 students and is equipped with software of data science tools like MS Excel, SPSS, SAS, R-programming Python, etc. Business Analytics as a specialization covers subjects like Predictive modeling, Statistical programming in ‘R’, Data specialization for managers, Spreadsheet modeling, etc. These subjects cover various techniques and topics that impart basic skills in using statistical programming, understanding big data, and applications of business analytics in various business domains.
